The Beast of Exmoor

On a walk with my camera in thick woodland in Devon I was lucky enough to spot what might have been the Beast of Exmoor.

This elusive animal has been the subject of numerous sightings since the 1970s, although some have put these down to just an overactive imagination.

Theories of the beast’s origin include escapes from zoos or wildlife parks, and the creature has been blamed for the mutilation of sheep.

I watched the beast for many minutes but it didn’t move, no doubt because it was aware of my presence.

I nervously backed away trying to make as little noise as possible!
